My 100% so far (12-29-08) Review of WARHAMMER ONLINE: Age of Reckoning!

Alright people, check this out... Short and Simple!

My first character that I leveled to 32 in like 2 weeks was an Archmage. I must say during that time, the game was a bit stale. I mean I couldn't get over the fact that the game was so heavy on scenario's, and usually 1 scenario per tier because it was the only one played ever, that I couldn't really get into the game. I came directly from all of Mythic's other games from before gaming was cool and Mythic was an unknown company basically. Games like Spellbinder, Magestorm, and hell even Godzilla Online (CAMERA MAN!!! :-P ), THEN DAOC. Which is in fact the best PvP, excuse me I mean RvR based game i've ever played. Honestly I wish Mythic would make a spellbinder 2, the game was that fun, but getting back to the topic, I couldn't stand Warhammer Online at the time! I was so bored with the game that I made so many new characters and got them all to about level 20 just to see if it would be any different. It wasn't and I used up all my character slots...

I ended up going back to play DAoC for a couple of months and let Warhammer bake for a bit at 350 for about 2 months. When I finally did come back to the game, which was about 2 days ago after the big career changing patch and the addition of the Black Guard and Knight of the Blazing Sun. I said to myself, I really don't want to play my archmage and just decided to start from scratch to get that new game euphoria that I love so much. I went with the Knight of the Blazing Sun and so far is only level 12 (in one day) but my experiences so far in Tier 1 have really made me feel like I made the right move giving the game some time to bake. The Open RvR really gives it a DAoC feel but the option of doing scenarios every so often is really nice as well simply because I'm not relying on them to have fun. Another thing that really impressed me was the fact that you know get those lovely OpenRvR influence rewards and for the knight in Tier 1 when I got my epic greatsword, WATCH OUT, because it made me hit like a truck. I'm really excited to level this guy up some more that way I can see the bigger and better additions i've heard about in the later Tier's (ie. Weapons and Armor looks, and Open RvR is only better... yadda yadda... we'll see. :] )

I haven't gotten to check out all the new changes and everything they threw in the game so far but when I do I will post a new update on how everything looks to me. An extensive class review if you will. :)

I Until next time I post about how much Warhammer is really fun now. Send me a tell in game on ironfist if ya want to just say hi or talk smack or whatever. I love it all!

WAAAAAAAAGH!!!

Crappily awaiting the warhammer open beta!

Hi everyone my name is Mike and I've been playing games with my friends by Mythic Entertainment for a very long time, like back when centropolis.com was around and they had games like Godzilla Online, ID4, Magestorm, and Spellbinder (mypersonalfav). I've been an avid player as there successful mmorpg Dark age of camelot since it was in beta, and it was by far my favorite game of it's time simply due to the PvP/RvR system they had brought to the table.

This game Warhammer Online is the newest installment of Mythic Entertainment games that is going to be release Sept 18th, 2008 and I've been anxiously awaiting, just like hundreds of thousands of other players, for it to be released. Unfortunantly I never did receive a closed beta invite, but I'm not mad, I just don't have the funds like some fortunate people with awesome gaming rigs. Luckily for me the open beta is about to start this coming sunday and I will finally get to try the best pvp system ever made once again but in a cooler gaming world/setting.

Classes I plan on playing in this open beta will be ALL OF THEM, because honestly, they are all super BADASS! I don't think i've seen a class I haven't liked with all the youtube vids made by a lot of the closed beta players (Thanks by the way). This game is seriously gonna kick some ass and WoW needs to just move over. The classes from those vid's i've felt like trying the most are for the Order side. Shadow Warrior, Rune priest, Ironbreaker, Engineer and White Lion. So far for the Destruction side, Zealot, Sorceress, and the Witch Elf.

From the impressions from people i've talked to in ventrilo, they have reported this game is basically not a wow killer but a game for people that have the need for DAoC type pvp system with a little bit of a WoW feel! (BUT BETTER) If that doesn't make sense, it sucks to be you, but once you play this game you will understand exactly what I mean and take in and hopefully love this need breed of game for bashing heads in and giving glory to your respective realm.

So far I'm kind of leaning toward playing an order class but knowing me, I love to have a variety of toons to play so i'd imagine I'll roll order and destruction on two servers.

Stay tuned for this weekend as the open beta starts on sunday, and I'll for sure be posting my first impressions and let ya know what i've been trying/playing and some tips and tricks.

Btw this is my first blog ever so leave a comment ye' lot!
